1 ✶ action/audio

Action:

[No no no no no no. No. That's not her mom. That's not her mom, and this isn't the airport, and it's another nightmare, it has to be. What else could it be? It's a dream and it's not her dream and that means she's trapped.]

[Anybody in New Bark will likely catch the sight of a little girl slowly backing away from the house she'd woken up in with wide eyes before breaking into a run and coming to a stop next to some trees to dig through her backpack. Except it's not her own backpack. And the things inside aren't what she wants or needs them to be.]

[Which is a big stressor to a kid who has no idea what to do.]

Audio, later:

Hello? Mr- Parkman? I didn't do anything, I promise.

[Spoken with the urgency of children who want to prove themselves innocent everywhere.]

Please let me out.

exeggutorhead: (but see what about this other thing?)

This place is more my home than the place I came from ever was.

Not a whole lot of people stay as long as I have. So who knows? You could stay for years or go back next week. We don't have any control over it.

[Which he, uh. Sounds kind of bitter about.]

[There's a brief pause; newbies don't usually stop to ask about him.]

The only couple of people I'd have missed showed up here a little while ago.

[Now if only he could be sure that they'd stay.]

Anyone can show up anytime.

...And from any time. From before or after whatever you last remember happening.

[audio] I thought I'd already replied to this sorryyyy

Yeah, I am.

It's not a bad place to call home.

You might as well think of it like a vacation, if you're wanting to go back.

Ha! I guess you've got a point there.

Still, it's about the nicest kidnapping I can think of.
exeggutorhead: (yeah well I guess so)

Well, then you can always hope to be one of the ones who doesn't stay long. But until then...

[Even though the video isn't on, he shrugs.]

You could try hunting that giraffe, if you're desperate.

There's no 'supposed to'. You can do whatever you want. But if I were you, I'd make sure to train whatever animal you got so it's strong enough to fight off any wild ones that attack you. The next town's a few days walk down the road, go there.

[...]

And if you find any berries in the woods? Don't eat them.
exeggutorhead: (yeah well I guess so)

Very poisonous.

They won't kill you, but they'll make you wish they did.

[HE SOUNDS VERY SERIOUS ABOUT THIS. There is very clearly a story here but it's embarrassing and Envy doesn't want to tell it to a strange kid. But she can probably figure it out.]

They all look different, and they all do different horrible things. The Pokemon can eat them, but not you.
exeggutorhead: (I'm so pretty)

Good.

[Jack Skellington warns people about ledges. Envy warns people about berries. But with his Serious Warning over, his tone goes right back to that casual, kind of amused tone from before.]

So what's your name, kid? I'm Envy.
