[He's not worried, you're worried. Rin is quite comfortable at home with his pokemon and his brother and living without a care in the world. Why would he be worried? Why would he be calling some little kid? Why is he holding what looks to be a care package without an address? All irrelevant questions. All of them.]
Hey Molly? You okay out there? Hope so. I know it's been pretty cold lately. The road from Cherrygrove to Violet is pretty long.... so. ...You should stay inside until the weather gets better.
You probably already know that... [mumblemumblewhydidiaskthat...]
...Uhm. ...How many pokemon do you have with you? If you need a fire-type, just ask, okay?
[There are loads of other questions to ask, but that would be too much to say in one message, right? Right.]
[Aw, Rin. Molly is pretty excited to hear from someone and calls him back not too long after getting the message, sounding cheerful.]
Hi, Rin! I got your message!
You know, someone sent me his Growlithe so I could borrow him for a while, so he's keeping me warm. I'm not going to go to Violet for a while though. I'm not allowed until they pay me, anyway.
That's good. [He says as looks over to his growlithe, T-Bone, and shakes his head. Not today, buddy! Sorry T-Bone, looks like you're not going to on on that cool mission to protect a tiny princess like Rin said... Still! It was great that she had others who were just as concerned for her well-being. And they acted a lot faster than he did. He smiles a little more as he listens to what she has to say.
Everything sounds good until the "pay" part. Was she even old enough to get a job? ...Was it a huge scam?! She just said she wasn't allowed to leave!!]
What kinda job is it? No matter what they say, they can't keep you there forever, got it?
[This is not his angry face. Or his angry voice. He just happens to look and sound like this when he's peeved off. Or worried. Mostly worried for the other person because he's going to have to choke a --]
I'm in Goldenrod with my brother but if you -- [IS THERE A LESS SAPPY WAY TO SAY THIS. NO? OKAY.] -- if you need someone to come for you then just- just lemme know.
[It's nothing special, really. It's really just a simple 'thank you' gift. Really. Simple as it is, it's still wrapped up nicely - and it's even tied up with a white ribbon! There's also a gift tag instead of a letter because someone felt too self-conscious to actually write a letter this time.
From: Rin To: Molly
Hope this helps you make a great friend
Inside of this dolled up box - is more wrapping paper???
Geez, there's a lot of paper. Pink paper, blue paper, purple paper, white paper --
[Uh huh ... so she has, from a number she doesn't recognise at all. It's a super cute picture, though. And as if she's gonna be particularly suspicious about it.]
theyre really cute! who are they ? or are they wild
[Jimmy and Molly had been on the road for a few days by now. It took little over four days to make the trek through Route 34 and on into the Ilex Forest. Though they could have flown straight to Azalea and made it there in far less time, it was more enjoyable to get to take in the scenery from the ground. Plus, camping in the forest was something Jimmy had been thinking about doing, and he figured Molly would enjoy it.
Having arrived into the forest late the previous evening, they'd been forced to set up camp and sleep until morning. Admittedly, it had been a bad time for traveling, since the past two days had been nothing but overcast and rain, and this morning was no different. And it had been so nice when they started out, too.
Thankfully this morning the rain had calmed to a gentle but steady drizzle beating against the top of their tent. Jimmy's fire types had been able to keep the heavier rain away for most of the early evening using Sunny Day, but it had worn off by now. Still, it wasn't unbearable at least.
Jimmy's still fast asleep with Leader curled up against his back, but depending on how light of a sleeper Molly is, she might notice that there's...something in their tent that wasn't there when they went to sleep. Something small and green, curled up near the edge of her sleeping bag pretty well soaked to the bone, shivering a bit.]
[He's right that Molly would enjoy it, and she's had fun making the camp cozy - or as cozy as they could, anyway, given the rain. While none of her Growlithe know Sunny day and couldn't help with that effort they were both curled up with them outside their pokéballs for their sheer body temperature and the comfort that brought, and so she slept well, even if yeah ... she'd slept too lightly for about a year now.]
[Not that she's plagued by nightmares right then. The company helps, is a major difference to the last time she was actually on the road like this, and she feels less lost and confused about what's going on around her.]
[But when the intruding grass-type nervously fidgets as Blaze stirs in his sleep and stretches out, starting to wake, it bumps into her sleeping bag and she blinks awake, not realizing why at first but sitting up with a yawn anyway, wanting to see if it's light out yet.]
[Which ... it's difficult to NOT notice the little lizard when she looks that way, and she stills immediately, much like it does; the tense uncertain eye contact lasts for a few moments until Molly makes a soft, shushing noise, hoping the lizard won't be scared, but it still seems deeply unsure for the moment.]
Jimmy!
[It's a loud whisper, but that won't cut it, she thinks, and she reaches over to nudge his shoulder.]
[ There isn't any hint of worry in his voice, nothing that should give off the air of anything being wrong. His brother did make a promise to her, after all... And Molly's been nothing but good to Rin so... ]
Rin said to let you know if anything had happened to him. He's still here, no need to worry about that... He just hasn't woken up. I'm not sure how long he'll be out though but rest assured I'll take care of him as best as I can.
[He gets a friendly "hi!" back in greeting, but she falls quiet quickly when he mentions Rin's name, and even though Yukio doesn't sound worried, Molly becomes serious when she answers.]
[Jimmy can he heard shouting muffled in the distance far before he ever gets back to his tent where he and Molly stay while in Goldenrod. ...when it's not too cold to, anyway, because once she wakes up she's going to have a bit of a rude awakening on that front.
Jimmy comes skidding in through the entrance with Leader at his side, the two of them covered in snowflakes. Leader ducks his head with a sneeze before shaking himself bodily as Jimmy rushes to Molly's cot, nudging her to wake her up if she isn't already awake from all of the noise he's making because HOLY CRAP.]
[Molly was awake pretty much immediately someone shouted her name, and she stares at Jimmy with an alarmed look as she goes through all the reasons he might be yelling her name this loudly, at first not even registering the snow on him ...]
[But then he says that, and she gapes.]
No it's not! It's summer!
[But it's cold, and she scrambles up, pulling on her jeans over her pjs, definitely intending to go see.]
