2 ✶ video/action
[Video! Molly's sitting on a park bench in Cherrygrove, a Natu and a shiny Sentret fighting for space in her lap.]
I wanted to say thanks to everyone who helped me last time. I can't remember everyone's names, but thanks.
[There were a lot of you people. But she does appreciate it, which is why she's reaching out again.]
But ... okay, I have to ask a few things. I've heard people talk about badges, what are those?
And ... well, what are pokémon supposed to eat?
[Video tilts to show the pokémon she's concerned for, then back up to Molly's face.]
They've kind of been eating my food, but I don't know if that's good for them. But I haven't really found anything in those stores either, like bird food or ... dog food or anything like that. So if anyone could help me with that that'd be great.
[Action if anyone in Cherrygrove wants to bump into her!]

[Give him a second here to remember the name. It's been a little over a year since he took him on... Ah!]
Falker, I think? A-Anyway, if you beat him you can basically fly wherever you want, whenever you want instead of walking around. I think all of the bigger towns have a gym and it doesn't really matter which order you get them in, but... some of them can be pretty tough.

[That's what she's gonna take away from this for starters, but she does appreciate all that info!]

[at least, Veronica hoped not. Hmm. Pausing ever so briefly, she hoped that her Sylveon wasn't getting fat off the veritable truckload of pastries she was eating.]
I think they sell some healthier stuff in the stores.
[She hasn't seen much of anything around. Cherrygrove has limited everything.]
[She pauses again, frowning...]
Don't eat them, though, Molly. [She stated, almost urgently, as thought trying not to forget.] They taste awful to Humans.

[And a shiny one too, by the looks of it. Which makes a little more sense to him now that his sparkly red skunk hatched not all that long ago.]
Badges are things you win when you beat the different gym leaders in towns all over Johto and Kanto! It's good to have badges cause Pokemon of higher levels you got in trades will listen to you if you have the right ones, and some badges you need if you want to be able to fly or surf n'stuff.
And like Roni said, Pokemon can eat pretty much anything! But like, those berries I told you about? They can eat those just fine, along with Pokepuffs and things like that.
[Smiles big!! She likes you a lot.]
[And is distracted by you referencing other people.]
Hey, you can hear her too? How does that work?
So just somethin' to keep in mind! Just in case you wanna talk about something and don't really want everybody seeing it. Most of the time it's a good idea to know the 'Gear numbers of friends so you can talk to them that way if you wanna just talk privately or whatever.

[ At least his aren't complaining. ]
Most of them seem to like berries. As for your question about badges...
[ He'll turn to fumble in his pack for a second before holding up a shiny little bauble -- his Zephyr badge. ]
This is a badge. It's proof that you were able to beat a gym leader.
It's pretty!
Which one is that from? Jimmy said there are a lot of gyms.
video;
This one's called the Zephyr Badge from the gym in Violet City. It's the first badge I ever got.
[ And he'll just hold it up a bit closer to the screen to let her get a better look. ]
Jimmy's right in saying that. There's a gym in almost every town. So... counting the gyms in Kanto, that makes eight and even the ones in Johto brings that to a total of sixteen gyms.

Time to be super helpful.]
Pokemon aren't that hard to feed, they're usually pretty good about letting you know what they like and what they don't.
And if you're out on the routes, they can usually find their own food okay. Just don't eat any berries that they bring you, sometimes the little ones don't know any better that berries make humans sick.
I'm Shaun; what's your name?
I'm Molly. [small wave!] Hi Shaun.
Have you been here really long, too?
[yes sorry, video 5ever]
Hi Molly, it's nice to meet you.
Yeah, I have. I've been here... Oh jeez. It's been almost two years.
I guess you're new here.

[Rin says this quietly and deliberately. It would be bad to scare off a little kid rather than give her some well-meaning advice. Kids were cute, but if even his peers thought he was a trouble maker at first sight, who was to say a little kid would think any differently?]

They're something that take a lot of traveling, badges I mean, and the further away the city is, the more levels the gym leader's pokemon has. So your pokemon need fighting experience and it takes time get them to the higher levels.
[Wait. Thinking back to her first time here.]
...Well, unless if you go with the ferry to Kanto, then Viridian is the exception. Because it's actually the one with Kanto's highest leveled gym, even though it's the city right after Pallet -- that's where the ferry goes to!

[Going straight for what was both most interesting and most confusing, so that's absolutely new information. Thank you in advance, friendly nearly adult!]

But if you wanna feed 'em what's GOOD for 'em, you're probably best off pickin' berries in the woods or buying kibble and Poke-chow in the stores. They sell 'em in just about every Mart so it shouldn't be too hard to find whatever's best for yours. I think they divide 'em up by Egg Group, but I could be wrong. I don't know much about the Breeding side of things. I just kinda grab stuff off the shelves.
[... AND SHE'S REALLY GUILTY OF FEEDING HER POKEMON HUMAN FOOD MORE OFTEN THAN NOT.]
What's an egg group?
Is that to do with why they all hatch out of eggs? Which is really weird, by the way.
